I had always loved the sounds of the 1940's and 50's so when I decided to take up a new pastime learning to jive seemed like the obvious choice. Dancing is a great form of exercise and coupled with the social aspect it ticked all the boxes for me. So over 15 years ago my dancing journey began when I took my first tentative steps to learn this fabulous style of dancing. Not only is the music fantastic, the fashion from that era is absolutely amazing! I pretty soon immersed myself into this vintage world and loving every moment I progressed through the dance courses, joined a dance troupe, performed on stage and at various events and generally danced at every opportunity that I could get!
Now, years later with teaching experience and various styles of dancing under my belt I am excited to be teaching this fun style of dancing in Banstead, Surrey. Alongside Jiving, at any vintage dance event throughout the country you will see people strolling (vintage line dancing) to the fabulous sounds of that era. Strolling is so much fun, great exercise and I'm delighted to be adding stroll classes to TJ's Jive.
Our classes are relaxed and friendly which makes for a fantastic social evening.
